Description
The Windorah International Yabby Races is held on the Wednesday leading up to the Birdsville Races and is a must see for all. The yabbies are auctioned off to the highest bidder before each race and then the fun begins. There are 10 yabbies to run in each race and plenty of money to be won if you bid right! The proceeds go towards local charities and the sale of the race form guide goes to helping the Royal Flying Doctor Service stay in the air. There is live music, bar and food all night long for your enjoyment so don't be shy come along and experience the excitement of a great night out in the bush.

Children are welcome at Windorah International Yabby Races. This event is held in the main street of Windorah, in front of the Western Star hotel. Toilets are available at the town park 100 metres away. General Store is also open for meals and other refreshments.

There is access for persons with a disability and toilets are located at the town park approximately 100 metres away.
How To Get There:
Make your way to the main street of Windorah (Albert Street), which will be closed off in front of the Western Star Hotel for the event. Accommodation is available at the Western Star Hotel, Cooper Cabins or at the Caravan Park. Contact the Windorah Tourist Information Centre for details.
