Description
The Townsville Winter Racing Carnival is an integral part of Racing in North Queensland which culminates Racing, fashion, excitement and fun, during an enviable mild North Queensland Winter.
The week leading up to the Townsville Cup is full of exciting racing events featuring Ladies Race Day, Breakfast with the Stars and the Townsville Cup Barrier Draw, the Townsville Cup Calcutta and Townsville Guineas Race Day. Finishing the week on a high note with the main event, the running of the ""Race Day That Stops a City"" The Townsville Cup and the time honoured XXXX Gold Cleveland Bay Sprint, it's a Super Saturday of racing at Cluden Park on what is renowned as Townsville's social and sporting event of the year.

Children are welcome at the following events during the Winter Carnival Week: Ladies Race Day - Saturday 20 July, Breakfast with the Stars - Wednesday 24 July, Townsville Cup Barrier Draw - Wednesday 24 July - dependant on venue, Townsville Cup Calcutta - Thursday 25 July and the Townsville Guineas Race Day - Friday 26 July.
The Townsville Cup Race Day is an 18 plus event only.
