The Gold Coast Champions Cup is an International youth football tournament staged annually in the September school holidays at the Carrara sports complex on the Gold Coast. The week-long tournament is an initiative of the Mudgeeraba Sports club and is open to male and female Football Federation of Australia registered players ages 10-21 years. The purpose of the event is to promote cultural understanding and friendship through sport. In 17 years the annual tournament has grown to be the largest club conducted international youth tournament in the Southern Hemisphere. 135 teams comprising 2025 players from every Australian State and Territory and New Zealand participated in the 2012 tournament. The tournament has attracted international teams from Wales, Nigeria, Chinese Taipei,The Cook Islands, Samoa, New Caledonia and New Zealand. The Gold Coast Champions Cup offers a high quality international football tournament within the context of an extended Gold Coast holiday.
