Cairns Dive Centre offers day and live aboard trips for the snorkeller and diver, as well as learn to dive courses through all levels. Courses commence on demand at their training centre, which includes an air-conditioned classroom and heated, four metre deep training pool. Study materials are available in many languages. Training dives are done on the reef or Fitzroy Island.
... moreThe liveaboard boat, M.V. Kangaroo Explorer is moored on the Great Barrier Reef, approximately 65 kilometres off the coast of Cairns and visits at least two different reef sites each day. She is a 26 metre catamaran, with twin, double and four share cabins. All cabins are air conditioned,have an ensuite
bathroom, carpet and a window. The Liveaboard sleeps 36 passengers and all meals are freshly prepared by an onboard chef.
The day cruises operate daily onboard M.V. Reef-Kist, an 18 metre catamaran, which offers a fast transfer to the reef. She carries a maximum of 40 passengers for their day trip and visits two different reef sites daily.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations within 48 hours of commencement will not be entitled to any refund.
Entity Restrictions
Luggage restrictions apply on all their tours. Please bring a small bag only. Bags can be stored at the Dive Shop for AUD5.00 per bag per trip.
General Comments
Liveaboard: Double, Twins and four-share rooms are sold on a first come first serve basis. There is no extra cost.
Liveaboard: Meals whilst on board and use of Snorkel and dive equipment are inclusive in the price.
How To Get There
Cairns Dive Centre provides bus pickup and drop offs from accommodation places in Cairns, for all courses and live aboard tours. Day trip passengers need to make their own way to E-Finger at the Marlin Marina by 7.00 a.m. for a 7.30 a.m. departure. Return time is approximately 4.30- 4.45 p.m. For day trip, outer city and Northern Beaches accommodation places they do provide pick ups for AUD10.00 return.

Cairns Dive Centre - Budget Open Water Dive Course
Cairns Dive Centre's dive courses will provide you with theoretical skill and the practical skill that you require to dive anywhere in the world. Your professional instructor will help you through the learning process, building your confidence and teaching you skills needed to dive in open water conditions.
Training takes place in the air conditioned classroom and in the gas-heated, four metre deep pool at the training centre. The open water dives will be conducted on their day boat - MV Reefkist. You will undergo 4 training dives, after which you will receive your certification card.
Budget Open Water Course means two day pool and theory also two single day trips to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, including four training dives.
Classes are taught in English, however manuals and exams are available in many different languages.
Tour Information
There are pick ups included in the cost of the course for the first two days only. First day starts at 0900, and you will finish roughly 1630. The times will vary on the next three days depending on whether you do the four day budget or the four or five day live aboard course.

Cairns Dive Centre - Snorkel Day Trip
Reef kist operates daily snorkel and dive trips to the amazing Outer Great Barrier Reef! See spectacular coral gardens teaming with a vast array of marine life. Reef kist is an 18 metre catamaran with a cruising speed of 18 knots, which offers a fast transfer to the reef. She carries a maximum of 40 passengers for our day trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef and visits two different snorkel/dive sites daily. All snorkel/dive equipment is included as well as a buffet lunch, tea coffee and a Marine-Biologist orientation. Introductory Scuba dives are available on request.

The Training Centre has an air conditioned classroom and gas-heated, four metre deep pool. The open water dives will be conducted on their live aboard boat - MV Kangaroo Explorer. Spending two days and one night at sea, trips include four training dives and one certified dive. You will receive your
certification card at the end of the course.
Classes are taught in English, however, manuals and exams are available in many different languages.
All criteria must be met before open water certification is granted:
Students must be able to pass a swim test and an Australian Standard (AS4005.1) dive medical is required by law to learn to dive in Queensland.
Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving:
Asthma, Epilepsy. Diabetes, any major heart or lung problems or operations and if you are pregnant.

Cairns DIve Centre- Fitzroy Island Day trip
Fitzroy Island Day Trip- Travel across to beautiful Fitzroy Island for magical day out. Visit Fitzroy Island Dive Adventure Centre for all your water activity needs. We have Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Introductory diving, certified diving, coral viewing kayaks, snorkelling gear, and stand up paddle boards. Day trip costs are $65 for an adult and $45 child (4-14) and include free snorkel hire for the day. Board Reef-kist at E Finger at 7:00 am (7:30 am departure) and be at Fitzroy Island jetty at 3:15pm. Returns to Cairns at 4:45 pm.
