Description
The Born to Run Foundation has established a new running event in the Simpson Desert based out of Birdsville, Queensland in 2013.
The Big Red Run will be an exciting week long event, covering unchartered parts of the Simpson Desert as well as a sunset concert atop Big Red featuring Australian music legend, John Williamson.
... moreRunners can choose from the Big Red Run which is a 250 kilometre six day stage race; the Big Red Dash which is a 42 kilometre marathon from Birdsville to Big Red; or the Born to Run 100 kilometre which is a unique 100 kilometre desert run.
This event will be Australia's first and only 250 kilometre multi-stage desert running race. Funds raised from the Big Red Run will go to the Born to Run Foundation to help achieve its objectives, including funding Type 1 diabetes research.
