Children are welcome at Aloomba Lavender Bed and Breakfast, coffee and gift shop but must be kept under parental guidance as the lavender fields are part of a large cattle property.

Pets Allowed:
Yes. Well trained and supervised dogs are permitted however they must be kept on a lead as Aloomba Lavender Bed and Breakfast, coffee and gift shop is on a working cattle farm.

Aloomba Lavender farm grows lavender and rosemary for the essential oil market and related craft products.
The lavender is planted in early Autumn or late Spring on the hillside adjacent to the Aloomba Lavender B&B, coffee and gift shop, situated on Mt Lindsay HIghway approximately 20 minutes east of Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt wineries and national parks.
The lavender flowers are harvested in late November through December, when some of the flower stems are stripped of the lavender flower buds to use in lavender bags and other products.
The lavender flowers to be used for distillation of the lavender oil are processed towards the end of the lavender harvest.
The gift shop has a wide range of beautiful gifts for all ages including, bunches of lavender flowers, lavender oil, lavender skin lotions, lavender bags, lavender soaps, handknits with a lavender theme, lavender theme embroidered cotton pillowases and other lavender flower related gifts.

Further Details:
Planting the lavender fields began at Aloomba Lavender via Stanthorpe in 1998. In 2001 Peter and Tere Bonner planted six acres (12,000 lavender plants) at Aloomba Lavender, Liston, via Stanthorpe.
The Aloomba Lavender business is based on dried lavender, essential lavender oil, with the products being available at the Aloomba Lavender B&B gift shop for house guests, day visitors and Granite Belt winery tourists.
Harvesting the lavender flowers by hand begins in mid November and distillation of the lavender flowers provides sufficient essential oil for retail.
The lavender produced is sold as product in the gift shop and via an online shop.
Tere runs the Aloomba Lavender retail outlet, Devonshire teas, good coffee and the bed and breakfast while Peter runs the planting and maintenance of the fields of lavender plants outside the Aloomba Lavender B&B, coffee and gift shop facilities.
The Granite Highlands area around Liston and Stanthorpe is ideal for the growing of Lavender with cold winters, well drained soil and hot summers with low humidity.

There is a great deal of interest in the lavender flower crop in Queensland and the general public take considerable trouble to visit the farm.
The farm is only 15 minutes from Stanthorpe and 56 kilometres from both Warwick and Tenterfield.
Visitors have a wide range of activities in the region from 50+ Granite Belt wineries to national parks with close proximity to the largest granite rock in Australia, Bald Rock National Park, Girraween National Park, Sundown National Park, Undercliffe falls. There are also many local wine and tourist related events and orchards for the passing visitor or B&B guests.

How To Get There:
Driving from Warwick to Stanthorpe (Mount Lindesay Highway), take the Amosfield Road (tourist route 7 - Oracles Way) 17 kilometres through Liston and then three kilometres north to the Aloomba Lavender farm gate.
Coming from Tenterfield, drive north on Mount Lindesay Highway to Aloomba Lavender farm Liston, via Stanthorpe.
Coming from Woodenbong, drive south on the Mount Lindesay Highway to the Aloomba Lavender farm gate approximately three kilometres north of the village of Liston.
Overnight accommodation is available for Bed and Breakfast visitors as well as campervans, caravans and RVs. Devonshire teas, good coffee and a gift shop are available on site. There are shower and toilet facilities nearby. Please contact the operator directly for more information.

Group, family, coach or tour groups visiting the "Aloomba Lavender" Liston lavender farm can book a short talk on the production of essential lavender oil and lavender products, essential rosemary oil, planting lavender, distilling lavender oil, harvesting lavender flower stems and stripping lavender flowers from the stems for lavender bags and lavender oil production. There is no charge for entry to the lavender farm or for the talk. Charges apply for the coffee, tea, Devonshire tea, light refreshments and for the bed and breakfast accommodation or camping at Aloomba Lavender farm. The charge is AUD7.00 per person for Devonshine tea at Aloomba Lavender farm, Bed and Breakfast, coffee and gift shop.
