Description

Ocean Rafting visits the ""Wild Side"" of the Whitsunday Islands, the uninhabited islands with beautiful natural scenery brimming with marine, bird and animal life. There are two exciting tour options, the Northern Exposure and Southern Lights. Each Ocean Rafting day offers three days in one, including an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach, pristine snorkelling reefs and guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walks.

The semi rigid inflatable vessels are super fast allowing guests to experience a fun ride, adventure and education amongst the natural beauty of the Whitsundays. 28 passengers at most allows for personal snorkelling lessons and the pleasure of a small group. A buffet style lunch is served at the beach with plenty of time to swim in the ocean or relax on the silica white sand. The Skipper and Eco Host ensure guests have a fun filled adventure and personalised service.

Ocean Rafting has been operating since 1997 and is proud to have special permits allowing its vessels to visit protected areas in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and direct access to the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach. Special snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island ensure a memorable underwater experience.

Yes. Guide dogs allowed only as they enter the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Further Details:
A buffet style lunch is available at an extra cost of AUD15.00 per person, payable on the day of travel. What to bring: Swimmers under your clothes, beach towel, hat, shoes and a camera in a waterproof container. Long sleeves are recommended in case it is chilly after snorkelling.

Ocean Rafting is Eco-Certified, is a Green Travel Leader and has been awarded climate change accreditation.

How To Get There:
Ocean Rafting departs from Airlie Beach every day by 10.00 a.m. and returns at 4.30 p.m. Vessels depart from the Coral Sea Resort Jetty and guests need to check in by 9.30 a.m. at the latest. A courtesy bus collects guests from Jubilee Pocket, Airlie Beach and Cannonvale. Please confirm your pick up time. Daydream Island and Long Island Resort guests can also join tours.

Southern Lights

The Southern Lights tours visits both the northern and southern ends of Whitehaven Beach. Enjoy at least two hours relaxing on the world famous white silica sand and join our guided walk to the Southern Whitehaven ""look out"", enjoying breathtaking views of Pentecost Island and the tropical waters of the Whitsundays. Snorkel for over an hour at Border Island, Dumbell Island or one of their ""secret"" snorkel spots, enjoying the amazing hard and soft corals of the fringing reefs. The main difference between the two tours is that the Southern Lights has more beach time and the Northern Exposure offers more snorkelling time.

Northern Exposure

The Northern Exposure eco adventure is a favourite amongst avid snorkellers because it is the only Whitsunday adventure which includes two different snorkel destinations. Not only that, but it includes a visit to the stunning beach at Hill Inlet, north end of Whitehaven Beach, and a guided National Park walk to the lookout above the silica sand of Whitehaven. Explore the restricted area of beautiful Hill Inlet at Whitehaven Beach. The main difference between the two tours is that the Northern Exposure offers more snorkelling time and the Southern Lights has more beach time.
