Description
The annual Leyburn Motor Sprints, one of Australia's leading historic and classic car competitions, will return to Queensland's Darling Downs.
Spectators and competitors are treated to an array of exciting sprint racing classes including open wheelers and sports cars of various engine capacities and ages, as they hum around the timed one kilometre circuit, leisurely winding their way around the houses and through the heart of Leyburn, is an accurate description of Leyburn's biggest annual event.
You will find the small town of Leyburn completely taken over by racing drivers, their friends and family and spectators. The tiny town explodes from only 150 people to thousands every August, for two days of motor racing. The Historic Leyburn Sprints is an annual two-day motor racing event where the streets of the town are closed off to the public and historic racing cars take over. The race weekend event commemorates the running of the first Grand Prix in Queensland at Leyburn in 1949.

How To Get There:
Leyburn is located in the Southern Downs Region, Queensland, Australia. A sleepy little township which was once a bustling goldfield. Leyburn is 219 kilometres southwest of Brisbane and 36 kilometres from Clifton, Toowoomba is approximately 75 kilometres away and Warwick is approximately 60 kilometres away so it is out there on its own, except for two days each year when it comes alive.
