Description

Quick Cat II is operated by Brian and Jill Perry who founded the industry in 1987. They offer half-day whale watching cruises morning and afternoon during the whale season, which runs from mid July to early November. Quick Cat II was launched in 2003 and upgraded in 2007 and has not only set the standards for whale watching vessels to follow, but has been accredited with Advanced Ecotourism ECO Certification. Quick Cat II guarantees whale sightings.

Quick Cat II is a state of the art whale watching vessel boasting the latest in marine technology and electronics allowing you to see and hear the whales that visit the pristine waters of Hervey Bay live. It is a non-smoking vessel.

Quick Cat II provides a courtesy pick-up and drop-off from accommodation around Hervey Bay. Complimentary light meals and morning and afternoon tea, with Jill's famous homemade muffins and danishes with free activity booklets for all children. Sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls and hot dogs are for sale on board. Quick Cat II is also fully licensed. Cruises depart the Great Sandy Straits Marina at the Urangan Boat Harbour in Hervey Bay.

Quick Cat II is an award winning vessel. It has won 15 Fraser Coast South Burnett Tourism Awards for Excellence for: Best Whale Watch Operator and entered the Hall of Fame; Access Tourism and entered the Hall of Fame for wheelchair access right around the main deck; Best Tourism Business in 2007 and in the State Awards was a runner up in 2006 and won a Directions Award in 2007. The Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce presented Hervey Bay Whale Watch with Customer Service Award.

How To Get There:
Great Sandy Straits Marina is situated at Urangan. From Maryborough take Hervey Bay Road. When entering Hervey Bay, stay on Boatharbour Drive for nine kilometres. At stop sign turn left. Go straight through first roundabout, turn right at second roundabout into carpark.

Half day whale watch tour 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. Including morning tea of home made muffins and danishes. Courtesy pick up in Hervey Bay area.

They have developed underwater cameras that are not restricted to an area around the vessel, but can track the whale right to the ocean floor. Live to air vision is beamed direct to on board monitors that allow passengers to view the action both on the surface and below the vessel at the same time. This vision is recorded live and available DVD for purchase.
