Adrenalin Snorkel and Dive is Townsville's longest established dive training and marine tourism operator specialising in providing snorkelling and diving trips and training of divers as part of a full dive service. They strive to exceed their guests' expectation in all aspects of the business. Dive the wreck of the SS Yongala, and snorkel and dive the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Non-divers are also welcomed on Outer Barrier Reef.

The SS Yongala is one of the world's great dives. The SS Yongala is a national historical wreck that lies within Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The wreck begins at 14 metres below the surface and sits on a sandy bottom at 28 metres. The artefacts, marine life and variety of corals that cover the wreck are spectacular.

Adrenalin Snorkel and Dive is committed to protecting their natural environment. All the trips are ECO Certified by ECO Tourism Australia. This involves a commitment to environmental sustainability and education of their guests.

Day Trip to S.S. Yongala Wreck

The S.S. Yongala sank during a cyclone in 1911 with the loss of more than 120 souls.

It's frequently rates as one of the ten best dives in the world.

The wreck begins 14 metres below the surface and extends to a depth to 28 metres.

The Yongala is most famous for the abundant marine life. It is often said that you will see more marine life on one dive on the Yongala Wreck than you will on half a dozen dives on the reef. The wreck is covered in hard and soft corals. During the winter months, the calls of the migrating whales can be heard and occasionally seen around the wreck.

The Yongala Wreck is a 'must do' on your list of dive sites in Australia.

Day Trip to the Outer Barrier Reef

The Outer Barrier Reef is rated as one of the premier snorkeling and dive sites in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This reef has many shallow areas well suited to snorkeling and introductory diving, as well as deep bommies and swim-throughs for the experienced diver.

Sites such as Student Bommies with a maximum depth of 12 metres have a sandy bottom, excellent coral cover and a diverse array of marine life. Shark Alley is renowned for sightings of black tip and white tip reef sharks, grey reef whaler sharks, giant trevally, and pygmy manta rays (October to December).

Wheeler Reef is an excellent location for diving with large schools of pelagic species, as well as macro species such as the ghost pipe fish.
