FURTHER INFORMATION

Children: Children are welcome. There is so much variety in each day's activity, that children rarely get bored. An aspect of the holiday that is often overlooked is the shared learning experience of the wonders of nature. Whole families can learn more about their daily discoveries from the huge reference library aboard featuring all the marine life of the eighth wonder of the world. The policy with children under 18 years of age is that, when welcoming families aboard, the family must charter the whole yacht - it would be unfair to ask others to appreciate your loved ones (as you do).

Miscellaneous:

The base is Hamilton Island Marina less than five minutes from the airport which is vitally important for guests whose time is short. Once departing the marina, you are immediately sailing these world famous waterways and can quickly enjoy all the activities mentioned above. For those who do not have the opportunity to enjoy a full week, there is a water taxi service available, where a speedboat will bring you to the yacht's location on the day of your choice to join the cruise. That way noone is inconvenienced by returning to Hamilton Island.

Charges are as follows: More than 30 days before departure, loss of deposit only; Between 30 and 8 days, 75 per cent of total holiday cost; Between seven and zero days, 100 per cent of total holiday cost. If you re book your cabin a full refund less an administrative and the cost of any special advertising undertaken to secure that replacement booking.

There is not a lot of room on board for unnecessary luggage or suitcases, therefore, guests are requested to bring their personal belongings in soft bags that can be collapsed for storage during their holiday. There may be a charge for suitcases that cannot be collapsed and have to be stored ashore.

These Islands, which abound in wildlife and Aboriginal caves complete with ancient paintings, await appreciation, if you know where to look. At low tide when the drying reef is exposed, there is a kaleidoscope of marine life to discover, if you recognise their disguise. Snorkelling over colourful coral reefs accompanied by hundreds of friendly fish is an experience to be treasured, if you have the ability. Steering the boat to sail calm waterways, harnessing the wind for propulsion is a true joy, if you have the experience. Personal guidance and free instruction in all these wonderful activities is included free of charge.

During the dry season 'Down Under' (July to October), sail the tropics allowing you to take advantage of the unique permit issued by The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority enabling access all areas (except special management and preservation zones) of the 'World Heritage' Marine Park.

Sydney Sundancer, (licensed to sleep 12 guests plus crew) is often likened to a 'floating five star hotel'. The meals you enjoy during your holiday will exceed expectation and surpass much of what is served in well-known Australian restaurants.

Please note that tariffs may increase if you choose to lengthen the duration of your tour. Prices are based on a seven day 'scheduled departure' from Hamilton Island each Saturday and shorter or longer periods may be available by special arrangement. Prices listed are an indication only, please contact the operator for full details.

A Whitsunday Luxury Sailing Holiday avoid the hot, wet, tropical cyclone season (which is officially from November to May) because of the occurrence of the deadly Irukandji and Box jellyfish during this time. Preferring to (safely) offer 'Adventures in Paradise' during the warm, dry months of July to October. The season, coincides with the period that the giant Humpback whales frequent the area, so there are regular close encounters with these 'Giants of the sea'! Also, by late in October, the prevailing winds have turned from South to North, which means that the best bays for snorkelling and scuba diving are unsuitable.
