27 - 29 September 2012
There's a sense of mystery around the ancient arts of blacksmithing, wool dyeing and horning, so it's fitting to experience these intriguing old disciplines in a rich historical setting.
Garden Hill's Ancient Arts Revival will be housed in the gallery and museum's spectacular collection of traditional rural sheds, nestled in the Lost World Valley and set against the mountains of the Lamington National Park.
The professionally-led workshops - including blacksmithing: horn and pewter; spinning, dyeing and weaving; bookbinding; whip making; drawing and sandstone sculpture - are an exceptional extended opportunity to explore these old arts.
Classes will culminate in a collectors and artist's exhibition on Saturday. Everyone is welcome on this day to enjoy gallery sales, demonstrations and displays of ancient arts and bush crafts, memorabilia and old farm tools, as well as food and market stalls and a walk in the country garden.
