Discover beauty, mystery and history along the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk linking the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area of Lamington and Springbrook plateaus via the scenic Numinbah Valley. Allow three days to complete the 54 kilometres Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk. It is recommended that you walk west to east, commencing the walk from Lamington National Park — Green Mountains section (O'Reilly) and ending at The Settlement campground in Springbrook National Park.

The walk is 54 kilometres long, of moderate difficulty and takes approximately three days to complete. The walk can be walked in either direction. Choose to walk one section of the walk in a few hours or a whole day. Or you can walk the entire 54 kilometres over three days or more. Camping areas are provided at Green Mountains section, Lamington National Park, Woonoongoora walkers' camp and The Settlement campground in Springbrook National Park. Walkers need to book at private campgrounds at Binna Burra and along the track or you can stay in nearby guest houses and Bed and Breakfasts.

How To Get There:
Getting to Green Mountains (O'Reilly) — Lamington National Park. From Broadbeach - drive 40 kilometres to Canungra via Nerang and follow the Lamington National Park signs. The 36 kilometres narrow bitumen road is winding and takes at least 50 minutes. The road is unsuitable for caravans.
From Brisbane - drive south on the Pacific Motorway and take the Southport-Nerang exit. Turn right at the lights onto the Beaudesert-Nerang Road and follow this through Nerang. Turn right at a set of lights approximately 7.35 kilometres from Nerang. Follow the road signs to Canungra and the Lamington National Park signs. The 36 kilometres narrow bitumen road is winding and takes at least 50 minutes. The road is unsuitable for caravans. Getting to Binna Burra — Lamington National Park. From Broadbeach - allow 70 minutes. Drive 38 kilometres to Beechmont via Nerang. At Beechmont turn left at the roundabout and follow the road for 10 kilometres to the park. This final section of road is very narrow.

From Brisbane - drive south on the Pacific Motorway and take the Southport-Nerang exit. Turn right at the lights onto the Beaudesert-Nerang Road and follow this through Nerang. Turn right at a set of lights approximately 7.35 kilometres from Nerang and follow the road signs to Canungra. At the T-junction on the Beaudesert-Nerang Road, turn left and follow the signs to Beechmont, located 18 kilometres from Canungra. Turn right at the Beechmont roundabout and follow the road for 10 kilometres to the park. Getting to Springbrook plateau — Springbrook National Park. From Brisbane - drive south on the Pacific Motorway and exit at Mudgeeraba (exit 79), and follow the Gold Coast-Springbrook Road. Springbrook plateau is 29 kilometres from Mudgeeraba. Alternatively, exit the Pacific Motorway at Nerang (exit 69) and follow the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road for 42 kilometres then take the Springbrook turn-off at Pine Creek Road. Turn left off Springbrook Road into Carricks Road and look for the campground signs.
From the Gold Coast - drive north on the Pacific Motorway and exit at Mudgeeraba (exit 80), and follow the Gold Coast-Springbrook Road. Springbrook plateau is 29 kilometres from Mudgeeraba. Alternatively, exit the Pacific Motorway at Nerang (exit 69) and follow the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road for 42 kilometres then take the Springbrook turn-off at Pine Creek Road. This bitumen road is steep and narrow. Turn left off Springbrook Road into Carricks Road and look for the campground signs.
