The Daintree and the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area Fast Facts

  1. It’s one of the oldest continually surviving rainforests on Earth. 
  2. The most biologically diverse tropical rainforest in the world! 
  3. Two World Heritage areas meet! The Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef at Cape Tribulation. 
  4. The Wet Tropics covers an area of 894,420ha which is equivalent to 162 Sydney Harbours. 
  5. 79% of the area is protected by 31 National Parks and State Forests. 
  6. The Daintree is just one of those National Parks that covers 17,000ha which is about 25,000 football fields.

  1. Jungle surf on a zip-line through the rooftops. 
  2. Explore the mid-level canopy walkway and the 23metre high canopy tower at the Daintree Discovery Centre
