TripAdvisor's Travellers Choice Awards 2012 - Top Beaches

We're really proud of the great beaches we have here in Queensland... and it looks like our visitors agree with us!  This year, Queensland absolutely dominated Tripadvisor's Travellers Chioce Beach Destinations awards in the "Top 10 Beaches in the Australia" category. In fact, of the top 10, Queensland beaches took up more than 50% of the board!

Here's a breakdown of how Queensland beaches fared.

#1: Burleigh Heads

"This beach is unforgettable. Safe swimming, clean sand, loved by board riders. The treed esplanade is perfect for strolling, lay back & read, let the kids play in the lovely playgrounds, have a BBQ at the many gas bbq's, take a walk through the headland...something for everyone every day of the year. #3: Coolangatta

"White sand beach, beautiful blue waves rolling in, great park with swings fronting the beach and lots and lots of dining options just across the road. Picturesque walk along the beach front all the way from Snapper Rocks through to Currumbin (if you are feeling really energetic)." - Tripadvisor

#5: Noosa

"Brilliant white sand. Warm sub tropical water. Sheltered. Close to the cafes if you're hungry. Great day out." - Tripadvisor

#6: Broadbeach

"Love this beach on the Gold Coast, It is very family orientated and there is a beautiful park just near it for a picnic or family barbie." - Tripadvisor

#7: Surfers Paradise

"The beach is spacious, clean and well kept. The water is crystal clear and the surf is decent for amatuers to learn and kids to have fun. It is also very safe as lifeguards are stationed at every section of the beach." - Tripadvisor
