A picture speaks 1,000 words. What better way to share your history than to paint it on the fences and buildings of your town. At Augathella the murals bring back memories of the shearing industry and also the quirky outback events like billygoat racing.
The artists are the Augathella Community. About 50 community members got together and painted these murals. Their inspiration was their love for the town, its history and culture.
Shearing, bullock wagons, drovers, homesteads and this vast land people in the Outback call home are included in these masterpieces.
