An idyllic country destination, Warwick's cityscape is characterised by lovingly maintained sandstone buildings, countless pubs, restaurants, cafes, B&Bs, and a real sense of country hospitality.
If you've got it, flaunt it, and Warwick isn't shy to showcase its assets with events and festivals running throughout the year. Christmas comes twice a year, in July and December, and in winter the trees of Warwick's main street wear custom knitted jumpers in a colourful display of the local sense of humour. Not surprisingly the Rose and Rodeo City has many stunning blooms, including its own signature red Arafuto rose, and October sees one of the country's most established rodeo festivals take place.
Let the easily identified Tourism Drive Routes tempt you to explore the promise of the Warwick Shire. Take in waterfalls galore, sub-tropical rainforests, a collage of diverse crops and freshly ploughed fields, heritage-listed homesteads, and lavender farms.
Take your pick of the cabins, farmstays, B&Bs, and great camping and caravanning spots. Hit the Leslie Dam to drop a line and spend the day on (or in) the water. Tee off for a few rounds of golf, or explore the nearby National Parks on foot, horse or in a 4wd.
Warwick lives within the Southern Downs and Granite Belt region. For more information about this region, download the official Australia's Country Way brochure here.
