Biloela

The heart of the Banana Shire, Biloela is a hub for community and industry in the Callide Valley, servicing the surrounding agricultural and mining districts. Sitting equal distances between Rockhampton and Gladstone, Biloela is a great base for exploring. Every direction uncovers idyllic lakes and rivers, National Parks, and welcoming communities.

Boasting wide streets Biloela is surrounded by grazing pastures, crops, and beautiful landscapes. Take a day trip in the immediate region and enjoy sweeping views exposed around bends in the road. Take advantage of the local hospitality and sheer volume of delicious produce available.

Nearby, unique natural formations dot the landscape. Mount Scoria's unique vegetation is almost overshadowed by the musical chimes made by the six-sided basalt columns when struck by other rocks.

Cania Gorge and Kroombit Tops National Parks offer fantastic bushwalking through eucalypt forests, past sandstone caves and cliffs. Cania Gorge has private camping and caravan parks. Bush camp at Kroombit Tops, go walking and 4-wheel driving, and enjoy spectacular views over the Boyne Valley.

The striking Silo that rises about Biloela's streetscape is a monument to the primary and secondary industries that Biloela and Central Queensland are built on the back of. With interactive displays, vintage machines, and of course outlines of the local industries, the Silo covers a lot of ground.

Biloela lives within the Gorges & High Country region. For more information about this region, download the official Australia's Country Way brochure here.
