Description

The mainland gateway to the Whitsundays, the Whitsunday Coast Airport is conveniently located just 30 minutes from Airlie Beach and is only 12 kilometres south of Proserpine. Whitsunday Coast Airport currently offers jet flights daily to Brisbane, services provided by Virgin Australia and Jetstar.

Facilities are available for charter flights and light aircraft. Hire car and transfer services agencies include Hertz, Europcar, Avis and Thrifty; bus, coach, taxi and limousine services on an individual or share basis; and a reservations centre to book accommodation or tours in the Whitsundays.

The Whitsunday Coast Airport terminal hosts a fully licensed cafe, bar and kiosk. Automatic Teller Machine facilities and public amenities are also provided.

General Comments

Passengers should arrive at least 40 minutes before their flight if travelling privately or one hour if using a passenger service. Bus, coach, taxi and limousine services are available on an individual or share basis to and from nearby destinations.

The Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine) terminal is currently undergoing an upgrade.
Improvements to the terminal will include: bigger departure lounge, check in and baggage claim areas, new baggage claim carousel inside the terminal, new-look cafe and bar, relocated and refurbished airport offices, customs quarantine facilities to cater for potential international carriers in the future.
