Bareboat charters can start and finish at different locations, including Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, Daydream Island and Palm Bay. Crewed charters can start and finish at Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, Laguna Quays, Townsville, Cairns and Port Douglas (repositioning fees are charged for areas outside the Whitsunday Islands).
All vessels are fully equipped with linen, towels, pillows, blankets, board and card games, fully equipped galley (kitchen), on deck gas barbecue, tender (dinghy) with outboard engine and fuel, and snorkelling gear. Windsurfers, paddle boards, kayaks, and scuba equipment are available on request (charges apply). Goods and Services Tax included. Not included in the cost are The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park entry fee, provisioning, beverages and fuel on motor cruisers (power boats). Each vessel is equipped with the required safety and emergency gear. EPIRB are standard on each vessel.
Minimum age: Drivers license age and appropriate documented experience or qualifications. Before departing on the boat, the skipper and at least one crew are required for a three-hour navigation briefing, area orientation and boat checkout. This is generally done each morning, starting at 9.00 a.m. Bareboat charters are limited to areas defined by the Queensland Department of Transport, but as a rule cover the entire Whitsunday and/or Cumberland/Lindeman/Goldsmith Islands groups. Some vessels may not pass south of Shaw Island. Bareboats may not sail to the Great Barrier Reef (for safety reasons). Crewed charters are generally permitted throughout all the islands as well as the Great Barrier Reef.
Charterers are required to sign a marine charter contract prior to departure which outlines the company's and the hirers' responsibilities to each other. Any on-shore expenses, expenses of a personal nature, marina and mooring fees are the charterers' responsibility. Payable on arrival in cash or credit card imprint, is a security bond. This is fully refundable less deductions, if any, for loss or damage to the vessel or its equipment. Bonds are returned within 10 days of end of charter. Travel cancellation insurance is a condition of booking. Additional Charterer Negligence Insurance also available. It is asked that vessels are returned tidy but the operator does not expect them to be totally cleaned. There is, however, a cleaning charge for excessively dirty boats.
Please ask about the special offers that are available. If you are hiring your vessel for seven nights you will receive a cheaper rate than if you are only hiring for five or six. There are other specials also available during certain seasons so please be sure to ask when you are making your booking. Fuel costs extra.
