Disabled:
Every Queensland Rail Travel service carries a collapsible wheelchair to aid customers with restricted mobility to get to and from their seat or sleeping berth. Facilities including a specially designed toilet and seating area are available for customers with a disability on some services. The Spirit of Queensland and Tilt Train Services: Their Spirit of Queensland and Tilt Train services can accommodate most types of motorised wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Queensland Rail Travel's Customer Contact Centre staff will be able to advise if your particular mobility device is able to safely gain access. Facilities including a large accessible toilet and seating area are available for customers with a disability on Tilt Train and Spirit of Queensland services. The Sunlander, Spirit of the Outback, The Westlander and The Inlander: The traditional style of rail travel offered by their other services is not fully accessible to customers who use a wheelchair, due to narrow door and aisle ways. However, a small onboard wheelchair is available for use once inside the train. Please discuss your exact requirements with your travel consultant to determine if you will be able to safely use the service.

Checked Luggage: Economy and Premium Economy Seats or Triple Sleeper customers may check in one item of luggage not exceeding 20 kilograms (44 pounds). Business Seat, Twin and Single Sleeper or RailBed customers may check in two items of luggage not exceeding 20 kilograms (44 pounds) per item.
Luggage check-in facilities open one hour prior to departure at attended stations and close 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
All customers are entitled to one item of carry on luggage (unchecked), limited to a maximum size of 23 x 34 x 48 centimetres per item. Carry on luggage must be placed under a seat, sleeping berth or in the luggage racks provided.
Smoking is not permitted onboard any Queensland Rail Travel service or station platform.

Further Details:
Showers and toilets are provided at the end of all sleeping and most sitting cars. There are no showers available on the Tilt Train between Brisbane and Rockhampton.
Dining and special diets: For customers travelling in Queenslander Class on The Sunlander or RailBeds on the Spirit of Queensland, main meals are included in the fare. On other services, meals and snacks are available for purchase as required from the Dining Car, Club Car, Buffet Car or Galley Car (depending on the train). Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are not included in the fare but may be purchased on all Queensland Rail Travel long distance services. Arrangements can be made for customers who have special dietary requirements providing four days notice is given.
Reservations: Reservations may be made up to 325 days in advance. Restrictions for short journeys may apply. Please contact Queensland Rail Travel for full terms and conditions.
Fares: All fares quoted on this site are in Australian Dollars (including GST).

Queensland Rail Travel offers Trainlink bus connections available to Airlie Beach, Yeppoon and Hervey Bay regions. Queensland Rail Travel stations are located at various towns along the Queensland coast and outback routes. Queensland Rail Travel do not provide accommodation pickup however transfers may be arranged by your travel agent or your accommodation operator may offer this service.

Disabled: The Sunlander has limited provision for customers with disabilities. Their onboard staff are available to aid passengers with special needs including assisting them when boarding and disembarking, moving to and from their seat, sleeping berth, accessing the toilets and shower entrance, and if required, serve meals to their seats. However, their onboard staff cannot lift passengers in any way or provide any form of nursing assistance such as giving injections, medication, helping passengers on or off the toilet pedestal, and washing passengers. Should a passenger require assistance of this kind it is the responsibility of the passenger to arrange for a carer to travel with them. If you require assistance or you are travelling with your wheelchair, please contact Queensland Rail Travel, so necessary arrangements may be made.
