The Whitsundays

Meet The Captain and Crew

Meet our Crew and Captain who over the coming months will show you just how fun and easy sailing in the Whitsundays is. In their journey to explore Australia’s island paradise in the best way possible, they will learn how to sail on a Maxi Yacht, live it up aboard a luxury charter and witness some of the most breathtaking scenery from seclude bays to coral reefs and magical sunsets.

Nathan McClymont

Nathan McClymont

A southerner who now calls Hamilton Island home, Nathan typically spends most of his time flying high – over the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef that is. With some of the most picturesque office views in the world, Nathan is helicopter pilot for Hamilton Island Air. So while he has plenty of over-the-water experience, Nathan is finally taking on the Whitsundays from a completely different view and mastering one of the region’s favourite past times.

After travelling and working overseas, Sarah (aka Sos) is now part of the digital crew at Tourism & Events Queensland. She’s working on her learner photography badge and loves to capture super dooper landscapes and timelapses. Sos is also into dancing (albeit badly) and took home the ‘2013 Birdsville Races Best Dressed’ prize (a XXXX straw hat). Sos is a big fan of creating and sharing inspiring content, and her goal is to encourage all Queenslanders to join the Instagram community so we can showcase this amazing state to the world! She’s never sailed the open seas, but is keen to avoid the jib! #learningthelingo

Christine Anderson

Christie is a reporter and feature writer for North Queensland newspaper the Townsville Bulletin. Originally from Sydney, she made the "temporary" move north seven years ago but after falling in love with the tropics, now calls Townsville home. Christie is lucky enough to have some of the most picturesque islands and reefs only a short boat ride away and spends much of her spare time island hopping and discovering new fishing spots. Christie is looking forward to her first time aboard a boat with sails.
