Big black marlin and even bigger white boats are what the Port Douglas Marlin Challenge is all about. The big boys and their toys head from Port Douglas to see who can tag the first grander, a black marlin weighing more than a tonne. Anglers from all over Australia and the world come to Port Douglas to undertake the challenge of fishing for one of the ocean's greatest prizes, the marlin.
The inaugural Port Douglas Marlin Challenge was held in November 2010 and has grown in stature and reputation at an amazing rate thanks to the relaxed, friendly nature of the competition. It has been pencilled in the calendar as a must do Blue Ribbon tournament by the best in the industry.
