Description

Eubenagee Swamp National Park's wetlands are a significant habitat for waterbirds. The park also protects some of the last remnants of various lowland vegetation types. Much of it is swampland, supporting paperbarks, waterbirds and crocodiles. The rest is rainforest and grassland. Birdwatching is rewarding, as the different vegetation types attract many birds. Explore the wetlands along a one and a half kilometre walking track which initially follows the Alice River. Climb to the top of the grassy hill and enjoy views over the swamp. To the west you will see Queensland's highest peak, Mount Bartle Frere.
