Miscellaneous:
Campervans:Cancellations up to 60 days prior to pick-up will not incur a cancellation fee; Cancellations within 30 to 60 days will incur a 20 per cent fee (of the gross rental); Cancellations within 29 to seven days will incur a 50 per cent fee; Cancellations within six days or a no-show will incur a 100 per cent fee; No refunds are given for vehicles returned early. Rental Cars:Cancellations up to 21 days prior to pick-up will not incur a cancellation fee; Cancellations within 21 to seven days will incur a 20 per cent fee (of the gross rental); Cancellations within six to one day will incur a 50 per cent fee; Cancellations on the day of pick up or a no-show will incur a 100 per cent fee; No refunds are given for vehicles returned early.
Britz advise the following Road Restrictions:Two Wheel Drive vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. The only exception to this are access roads to recognised campgrounds; Four Wheel Drive vehicles can be driven on recognised unsealed tracks. Four Wheel Drive vehicles can only travel to the following areas with the written permission of Britz - Simpson Desert, Strzelecki Track, Gunbarrel Highway, Cape York, the Bungle Bungles, Oodnatdatta Track, Birdsville Track and Gibb River Road. Permission being granted is subject to weather and road conditions. Vehicles are not permitted on the Canning Stock Route, the Lost City in Litchfield Park and the Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York. Britz reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions. Britz requests that clients collecting or returning their vehicle to be in the office by 4.30 p.m.
Britz is also a member of the Australian Tourism Export Council. Britz reserves the right to charge for any speeding, parking or tollway fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The administration fee per fine will be AUD60.00
Should a hirer have more than one rental (multiple rentals) then these rentals can be combined to qualify the hirer for the long term rate. Campervan and car rentals in Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa, for both Britz and Maui, can be combined to qualify if travel is within a three month period. (For example, one 14 day rental plus one seven day rental qualifies for the 21 day rate).For pick ups and drop offs on the same day, the daily rental charge for the last day of the first rental will be charged, and the daily charge for the first day of the subsequent rental will not be charged. This will also apply to the Excess Reduction charge. The One Way Fee (if applicable) and charges for additional hire equipment (tables, chairs, baby seats) and additional extras will be charged per vehicle rental.
Late returns will be charged on a per day basis. Britz advise that one-way rentals are available between all branch locations. One way rentals between Tasmania and the mainland are on request. A one-way rental fee of AUD220.00 is charged, this is in addition to the Broome surcharge fee if applicable.
