Description
Snapper Island, Hope Islands National Park has lush vine forest, dense eucalypt forest and white sandy beaches. The islands and surrounding waters and reefs form part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. The park is also significant to the Kuku Yalanji people, the local Aboriginal Traditional Owners. Go on a guided kayaking trip with a tour operator. Enjoy bush camping on this uninhabited and serene island. Drop in a line and try your luck fishing for mackerel and other reef fish in this popular angling spot for small boats.

How To Get There:
The park is 20 kilometres north of Port Douglas; one nautical mile south-east of Cape Kimberley. In fair weather, access the island by private boat or kayak, or join a kayak tour. The main access point is the island's north-west corner.
