Tropical North Queensland is the main gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and offers a number of options for snorkellers, divers and sun-lovers of all ages.

Daytrips and sailing cruises depart from most major hubs along the coast and longer live aboard expeditions leave Cairns and Port Douglas every week.

If you’re a born castaway, Hinchinbrook Island is Australia’s largest island national park and a perfect place to seclude yourself away from mobile phones and modern day distractions.

Lizard Island offers some of the world’s most beautiful reefs and private beaches, just a short skip from the world-famous dive site Cod Hole and the Ribbon Reefs.

Other highlights include a visit to the beautiful Fitzroy Island, a helicopter flight and guided snorkel at Vlassof Cay, or if you’re so inclined, renting a whole island for yourself at Haggerstone Island.
