Best Job adventure experience

Following Tourism Queensland's global search to find an Island Caretaker — also known as the Best Job in the World, two of the final 16 candidates travelled to Tropical North Queensland and reported back on their adventures.

Greg Reynen is American and has recently been residing in Singapore and teaching physical education at the Singapore American School. He’s an avid adventurer and blogger who loves exploring the outdoors. He kept a written diary of this trip.
James Hill used to live in London but now calls Australia home (again). As an intrepid photographer of worldly pursuits, James has been fortunate to experience what he calls 'some of the most incredible globe-trotting experiences a man could ever wish for.' We sent these two travellers to Tropical North Queensland to discover some of the wild and beautiful adventure experiences on offer. After diving in the pristine waters of the Great Barrier Reef and then 'surfing' through the lush canopy of the rainforests, our travellers also headed to the Outback. There they experienced some of the unique natural wonders, wildlife and country hospitality of Queensland.
