Discover Hinchinbrook Island - the largest island National Park in the world, surrounded by the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The friendly staff at the Kookaburra Holiday Park will be happy to arrange your visit to the island, whether it be a day trip, to snorkel or dive or to walk the infamous Thorsborne Trail.
Fishing and Boating - Catch barramundi, mangrove jack, estuary cod, bream, flathead, salmon, whiting and sand crabs. Take your boat, fish from the jetty or let the staff at the Kookaburra arrange a Fishing Charter for you.
Cardwell Lookout and Forest Drive - Enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding area, then continue to drive through timber plantations to enjoy freshwater swimming at Attie Falls, Deadhorse Creek and the Spa Pool.
Five Mile Swimming Hole - An easy accessible, popular picnic spot with a cool, shaded, freshwater swimming hole.
Edmund Kennedy National Park - A three kilometre walking track with boardwalks penetrating mangrove swamps, enabling visitors to appreciate the diversity of vegetation and bird watching
How To Get There
Coming from the South: Kookaburra Holiday Park is located 800 metres north of the town on the Bruce Highway on the left hand side of the road.
Coming from the North: Kookaburra Holiday Park is located on the right hand side of the Highway 800 metres before the town.
Access Public Transport
By bus (Some coach companies run a number of services daily to Cardwell). By train (There are three services a week to Cardwell).
Villa
Villas are the largest range of their accommodation and are surrounded by lush tropical gardens. All Villas are self contained with a separate main bedroom and accommodate up to seven people in two double beds, one single and a set of bunks, or five people in one double bed, one single bed and a set of bunks. Ideal for families and small groups.
Features include: cooking facilities with microwave, fridge, crockery and cutlery, electric frypan, bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans, large flat screen television, table and chairs inside, linen, towels, verandah with outdoor table and chairs and car park.

Roomette
Double or twin roomettes are considered 'luxury camping for fishermen'. Economically priced, they are fitted with an air conditioner, television, small bar sized fridge, wardrobe and drawers and either a double or twin beds.
Roomette accommodation is also very popular with backpackers, allowing more privacy than the 'dormitory' style of accommodation.

Executive Villa
The Executive Villas are spacious with a separate bedroom at the rear. They also have a set of bunks, kitchen, bathroom, couch, table and chairs, television, DVD player, outdoor table setting and barbecue. With a long driveway, it is a great option for parking if you have a boat or trailer.

Standard Cabin
Cabins offer excellent value for money for the family or more budget conscious clientele. They are individual, freestanding cabins and feature cooling facilities, air conditioning (coin operated - AUD1 for three hours), ceiling fans, television, verandah and car park.
Cabins can accommodate up to six people in a double bed and two sets of double bunks, or a double bed, set of triple bunks.
Linen is included in the tariff for the double bed and available for hire for single beds AUD6.50 per set.
