Cancellation prior to full payment will result in the full deposit being forfeited. If cancellation after full payment has been made, client is liable for full payment unless another charter can be found for that period. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Bareboat Charters are limited to areas defined by the Queensland Department of Transport. Their area includes the northern tip of Cape Cleveland, all of Magnetic Island, and the entire Palm Island group.
Standard boarding time is at 10.00 a.m., followed by a comprehensive briefing. Vessels are equipped with safety equipment including Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) and radios, Global Positioning System (GPS) is available for hire and should be pre-booked. Reservation conditions - Booking is confirmed upon payment of AUD500.00 deposit and receipt of booking form. Balance is due 60 days prior to departure or immediately if made less than 60 days prior to departure. Fuel, damage waiver fee, marine park fees, relocation fees and optional extras are not included in the price. Please contact the operator for further details.
Tropic Sail is locally owned and operated and prides itself on providing personalised service in the way of airport transfers, local provisioning, pre and post charter accommodation and activity bookings, water sports equipment hire to name just a few. Tropic Sail is also a registered Yachting Australia Training Centre offering sailing courses, yacht deliveries and racing regattas. Departures - All charters depart from the Breakwater Marina in Townsville. Pick up and drop offs are available free if four people or less; or if greater transfers can be arranged.
Rental Period - Rental period is based on 24 hour rentals. Return of the vessel is by 12.00 p.m. on final day, unless other arrangements are made in advance. Insurance - An insurance levy is payable on a per charter basis, this covers own damage and third party property damage. Remote Area Surcharge - Pick up and deliveries other than Breakwater Marina in Townsville will incur additional charges.
