Description
From humble beginnings in 1983 as a two-day music and drama event, the eisteddfod is now a two-week-long cultural spectacular. This eagerly-anticipated event draws nearly 2000 entries from the Burdekin as well as from Bowen, Proserpine, Airlie Beach, Mackay, Charters Towers, Townsville, Ingham, Innisfail, Cairns and Mareeba. With sections for everything from music and dance to visual arts and drama, the eisteddfod is a great showcase of the north's junior talent. It is held at the Burdekin Theatre in Ayr.
