Day One of the Carnival is the Yalumba Caloundra Cup - one of the Sunshine Coast Turf Club's major racing events and part of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival. As the stand-alone metropolitan meeting in Queensland this day will see the running of nine races: AUD 200,000 Yalumba Caloundra Cup listed - 2,400 metres; AUD 175,000 Reed Property Group Glasshouse Handicap listed - 1,600 metres; AUD 100,000 XXXX Sunshine Coast Guineas listed - 1,600 metres; AUD 85,000 RCQ Bruce McLachlan Classic 2YO Handicap - 1,200 metres; AUD 80,000 QTIS 3YO Added Stakes Handicap - 1,000 metres; plus a further four races of AUD 50,000 each programmed. With high class fields, the best jockeys from around Australia, roving entertainment and the ever popular Fashions on the Field.

Children:
The Sunshine Coast Turf Club encourage families to attend the Carnival and in particular the second day of the carnival is a Family Fun day with free entertainment for the children.
Disabled:
The Sunshine Coast Turf Club has a lot of areas that can be accessed by wheelchairs etc. and provide disabled toilets.
General Comments
What You Can Bring:
Eskies - you are permitted within the Public area to bring your own food - however no beverages, including water and soft drink.
Sun protection - Although they supply a lot of outdoor furniture with umbrellas it can be a hot, long day in the sun. Don't forget your sunscreen.
Money - they do have four ATM's located inside the course because admission, bets, food and beverage tickets are all to be purchased with cash only.
How To Get There
By car: 1 hour from Brisbane Airport and just off the Caloundra turn off of the Bruce Highway (follow the signs to Corbould Park Racecourse).

By bus: They will be arranging free buses from Noosa, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Kawana to get you to and from the track. Timetable information will be available on their web site closer to the day.
A free shuttle bus from their main public carpark to the Main Entry Gates will also be running from 11am - 5pm.
