Brooyar State Forest features sandstone cliffs, hoop pine plantations and a mix of tall open eucalypt forest with spotted gums. Pockets of riparian rainforest fringe Glastonbury Creek.
Take a scenic drive, stopping to enjoy views from Point Pure lookout (300 metre return walk) or a short stroll along an old logging road through rainforest. You can picnic at Glastonbury Creek, or set up your tent or caravan on the grassy camping area nearby. Relax and absorb the tranquillity. In summer, feast your eyes on the forest's colours: rich red and yellow flowers of black bean trees, and vivid orange flower spikes of silky oaks. You can camp with your dog overnight, but must keep it on a leash.
Children:
Children are welcome. Supervise children closely at all times - especially at lookouts and near the creek.
Pets Allowed:
Yes. Dogs are permitted on lease at Glastonbury Creek camping area, but must remain under control and on a leash at all times.

Entry is free, however camping fees apply. Book your campsite before you visit.
How To Get There
Brooyar State Forest is 20 minutes north-west of Gympie. Head 10 kilometres north of Gympie along the Bruce Highway then turn left onto the Wide Bay Highway and drive 7.8 kilometres to the turn-off to the campground. Caravan access is via Peterson Road. All access roads are unsealed.
