The Sunshine Coast is blessed with frequently sunny days and a pleasant sub-tropical climate all year round, making it a great destination to get active.
What's your idea of adventure? At the more extreme end of the spectrum are such thrills as skydiving and abseiling; at the other end the gentler sports of golf, fishing, horse-riding and sailing. If you love water sports you're spoilt for choice with scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming, kite boarding, power boating, jet skiing, kayaking and more. Surfing is almost a religion to the locals and one they're happy to teach the visitors. Top surfing spots include Noosa Main Beach, Little Cove and - for more experienced surfers - Australia's longest wave break at Double Island Point. The region also offers some excellent scuba diving including the wreck of the HMAS Brisbane off Mooloolaba.
The family-friendly attractions of Australia Zoo and Underwater World bring wild adventure to you. Meet fearsome crocodiles and get to walk with a Bengal tiger, or get up close with sharks, giant manta rays and other amazing marine life. The Aussie World theme park is also great family fun, themed like a classic Aussie fairground and offering plenty of thrills and spills.
