The Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge provides eco-friendly accommodation in the heart of the Glasshouse Mountains. The remarkable Glasshouse Mountains are a series of steep sided volcanic plugs over 25 million years old. And best of all you can climb, scale, walk around or simply gaze at them from the front entrance of the Ecolodge. Explore off the beaten track with one of the Lodges' bicycles, go for a bush walk and maybe spot a kangaroo or lace monitor lizard. Learn about the rich and ancient legends of the traditional owners of the land, the Aboriginal legends of the Glasshouse Mountains. Taste the wide variety of tropical fruits grown in the area including pineapples, papaya, bananas and macadamia nuts.
Relax in a hammock and listen to the sounds of the Australian birdlife, maybe a kookaburra or two.
Two varieties of accommodation are available. Rooms for couples with their own shower and toilet overlook the tropical orchard and family style rooms that can take up to four people. Prepare your own meals in the railway train carriage which has been fully equipped as a kitchen/dining area. Relax in the second railway carriage, chat, play games or make use of the swap library. Sit indoors or outside and enjoy the peace and quiet of a truly great Australian bush setting.
