Queensland Holidays - The Official Tourism Site for Queensland

Southern Downs

The Summit

Description

Take leave of the New England Highway between Dalveen and Applethorpe (to the north of Stanthorpe) and check out the fruit stalls along that stretch of road known as Granite Belt Drive. One of the towns is The Summit, home to the highest railway station in Queensland.

The fruit stalls operate most of the year but of course it's seasonal when you're seeking local produce.
