The Birdsville Race is a unique event that attracts people from all over Australia. Greyhound offers a six day package deal which includes: return coach travel, tent style accommodation, most meals and a Birdsville Races T-shirt.
The sleepy Outback Queensland town of Birdsville comes alive in the first weekend of September with the annual Birdsville Picnic Races. This event attracts people from all over Australia, from the city to the bush. Greyhound Australia construct their own Camp 'Tent City' is now almost as famous as the races themselves.
Greyhound has been a major part of the famous Birdsville Races for the last 28 years. On race day the Greyhound Coach shuttles people to and from the racetrack for a small fee which is donated to a worthy charity.

Greyhound Australia departs from Greyhound Australia Terminal at Roma Street Transit Centre at 5.30 p.m. You can also join the en-route places like Toowoomba, Charleville or Quilpie. Contact Greyhound to see if you can be picked-up elsewhere.
What to bring: Greyhound Australia suggests you bring a torch, pillow, rug, small cushion, cutlery, plate, mug, casual clothes, warm clothes for cool nights, wide brimmed hat, air mattress, sleeping bag, bedding, toiletries, folding chair and a good sense of humour.
Grehound Australia has daily services from 1,100 destinations to get you to Brisbane to join the tour.
Groups of 10 or more booked together will receive a 10 per cent discount.
