The Granite Belt is the source of much of South East Queensland’s rich, quality produce. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available from Farmer’s Markets and fruit shops but some of the best can be purchased from roadside stalls throughout the region.
For a one stop berry shop, visit Glen Aplin where you can feast on strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries, berry ice-cream, homemade jams, sauces, vinegars and coulis. At Amiens you can have a unique experience in a working farm entering its third generation. Jump aboard the Shed (tour bus) and take a ‘Seed to Salad’ tour.
On the north side of town, visitors have an opportunity to experience a genuine apple and berry orchard. You can also sample apple cider, apple juice, liqueurs, berries and other fresh fruits when in season. And why not find out more with a tour through the orchard.
With markets held in Warwick, Stanthorpe and Wallangarra, opportunities abound to grab the freshest seasonal fruit and veg, at perfect ripeness. Click here for a list of markets in the region for your fresh produce.
