Kirra is in the southern stretch of the Gold Coast and boasts excellent breaks for experienced surfers.

Kirra Point has challenging waves for the experienced surfer, as well as smaller waves closer to shore for beginners. It's a great place to watch the experts at work and get some pointers if you're learning to surf. You could say it's the local obsession - with three surf life saving clubs, many events and major surf competitions.

Try hiring a longboard for the day for guaranteed fun. And make sure not to miss nearby Duranbah for another surfing hotspot.
