Bakers Bend fishing spot on the Warrego River is one of the best camp sites on the River. The banks are grassy, the trees shady, and peace and quiet, well let's just say it doesn't come any better than this. In 1932 the virgin country at this site became a farm producing oranges, pumpkins, tomatoes, melons and beans. Local folklore states that this waterhole has never gone dry.
There are no amenities here, just you and the Warrego River. Plenty of the local fishing yarns have originated from this spot. Why not head out, throw a line in and create your own outback fishing yarn, to take back to your friends and family when you get home.
Further information on this and other fishing locations in the Charleville area can be obtained by contacting the Charleville Visitor Information Centre. Please note: Riverbanks can become inaccessible and very boggy in wet weather for up to two weeks.
