Child meals are available. All tours are suitable for children four years and over with parental assistance. A swimming pool, bushwalking and other activities are available.
Cancellations received 30 days or more receive a full refund. 29 to 21 days notice will result in 25 per cent of the deposit being forfeited. Cancellations received 20 to 14 days prior to booking date incur 50 per cent deposit forfeiture. 13 to seven days notice will result in 75 per cent of deposit forfeited. Less the seven days cancellation notice will result in total forfeiture of the deposit.
Wheelchair access ramps to reception, shop, accommodation and dining area, as well as two showers and toilets. Disabled and limited mobility access to the lava tubes via boardwalks. See the operator's web site for more information about the disabled facilities. Please inform reservations at least 48 hours prior for tours.
Meals are served on Mitchell's Deck and Fettler's Iron Pot Bistro. Dinner may include homemade soup, a choice of hot meats with vegetables, salads, dessert and cheese platter. A full bush breakfast is served at their Ringer's Bush Camp.
Undara Experience, winners of the 2008 Tropical North Queensland Significant Tourist Attraction, offers accommodation options to suit even the most price-conscious traveller. Specially restored motel style railway carriages are set amidst the Queensland bush. Budget options include the Wilderness Lodge, bunkhouse style with three share rooms, Swags Tent Village, comfortable 'up-off-the-ground' tents; or for those who prefer to experience the bush in every way, camping and caravan sites. These budget areas are serviced by a recently refurbished amenities block and practical camp kitchens.
Trained first aid staff are available 24 hours daily. Royal Flying Doctor Service supplies are available on site.
Access to Undara Volcanic National Park is by guided tour only. Undara Experience are the pioneers in lava tube touring with all tours carried out by highly trained Savannah Guides. With five different tours available, there is one to suit every taste and fitness level. Try the Wildlife at Sunset tour for an experience you will not forget!
Transfers can be arranged for overnight guests to and from Mount Surprise.
Undara Experience Lava Lodge is situated 275 kilometres south-west of Cairns. Follow the Gillies Highway to Malanda and on to Ravenshoe. Drive through Ravenshoe to the Innot hot springs (32 kilometres) and on to Mount Garnet. 53 kilometres past Mount Garnet turn west on the Savannah Way. Undara Experience is 32 kilometres further.
Undara Experience is also accessible by air with its own 1,900 metre airstrip. Coach transfers leave Cairns three times a week, or, for an experience of its own, try the Savannahlander train.
Please note that pets are not permitted on the property due to the proximity to the National Park, however pet minding facilities are available at nearby Mount Surprise.
