Description
The Blacksmiths Cottage is a charming historic cottage with extensive verandas set in a pretty garden with half acre grounds very close to shops, attractions and transport. It's fully restored with period furniture and four poster bed in the main bedroom with summer house for a leisurely afternoon tea in quiet, private surroundings. The cottage is suitable for a couple or family of four or two couples travelling together.
... moreIt has modern amenities and covered garage and a very reasonable tariff compared with similar elsewhere. Enjoy complimentary self serve light breakfast, tea, coffee and biscuits. The cottage is suitable to stay overnight, for a few days or weekly so visit local attractions or those in nearby towns approximately one hour away. All linen, crockery and washing facilities are provided free of charge. Be prepared to be surprised at what you will find inside.

Further Details:
The owner/operator upon arrival visits and gives guests an insight into how people lived back in 1892, with modern day comforts built in. The owner does not live onsite.
How To Get There:
Check in at the Tourist Information Centre at Oak Street, Barcaldine who will provide directions.
Travelling from the south - third last street on right.
Travelling from the west - turn right at BP Service Station, third on left.
Travelling from the east - turn left at the Globe Hotel, third street on right.
Service Information:
The property is only available for bookings between April and September.
Tariff Information:
The tariff applies for use of the whole cottage. Not shared with others. Only one cottage on half an acre of land - situated in the centre of town in a quiet location.
Cottage
Two bedroom self contained cottage with a charming double four poster bed in one bedroom and one old fashioned iron bed with lace canopy and one wooden bookcase top bed with pretty quilt in the second bedroom. The kitchen is separated by a short covered walk from the main building and features an old fashioned stove recess. The lounge features a three piece Genoa recovered lounge suite, old wood glass fronted bookcase and books and a china cabinet with display pieces. Additional separate dining room and summer house.
