Cedar Grove Track
2 Hours  / 2.8 Kilometres

Description

The Cedar Grove Track is located within the Eungella National Park. High above the surrounding plains, this mist-shrouded and forest-clad mountain refuge is one of Queensland's most ecologically diverse parks with 860 plant species and a wonderful variety of wildlife.

The 2.8 kilometre (including the Pine Grove section) Cedar Grove Track requires a moderate level of fitness for short uphill sections and stairs. Walk in rainforest shade and catch glimpses of the Pioneer Valley through tall trees. Stop at the lookout to take in the valley floor view-a patchwork of green and brown cane fields with a steep mountain backdrop.

... more

Continue from the Pine Grove track to feel dwarfed by towering red cedars and tulip oaks. Take a moment to stand inside the strangler fig tree arch. After crossing bridges over gentle creeks and brushing past livistona palm fronds, stay a while and relax at the Sky Window visitor area. Allow 45 minutes to one hour to complete this walk of a moderate grade.

The Cedar Grove Track is part of the Mackay Highlands Great Walk.
