Scenic continental Brampton Island was once part of a mainland mountain range. Today it is surrounded by sparkling turquoise waters, rising from sea level to 214 metres at Brampton Peak.
Its rocky headlands dotted with hoop pines, open grasslands, woodlands, sheltered bays, and long sandy beaches make this island one of the most scenic off the Queensland coast.
... moreThe walk from the jetty to Brampton Peak is steep in places, but you will be rewarded with splendid views of the mainland and Carlisle Island's steep forested slopes. Enjoy the surroundings and catch your breath at one of the bench seats along the way.
... lessWear sturdy shoes, use sunscreen and carry water.
