Take a step back in time at the historic Greenmount Homestead. Developed by Albert Cook on the cattle run first taken up by Mackay pioneer Captain John Mackay, Greenmount was gifted to the city by the Cook family in 1983 and is held in trust by Mackay Regional Council.

The city Heritage Walk highlights some of Mackay's magnificent turn-of-the-century architecture. A must for any visitor, the 90-minute walk includes many buildings that are listed with the National Trust, including the Mackay Court House and Commonwealth Bank façade.
