Just off Mackay’s coast, safely nestled within the Great Barrier Reef, in the calm blue waters of the Coral Sea lie the Cumberland Island Group at the southern extreme of the famous Whitsundays.

These islands and the water that surrounds them are an aquatic playground for incredible snorkelling, and features an abundance of marine life including tropical fish, turtles, dolphins and whales.

Escape the city and spend a day walking the shady trails of Brampton Island dotted with open grasslands and woodlands or pitch a tent and camp for the night. Stay in comfort on Kewsick Island and wake up to the rainbow coloured reefs, or venture out to Scawfell Island and immerse yourself in coral gardens and sandy beaches.
