Description

Mining towns are sometimes overlooked when planning an itinerary, yet if you happen to be into birds, there's one mining town worth visiting. It's Dysart, south-west of Mackay, in a district renowned for its bird-watching activities.

It's basically a service town for the mining fraternity, which means that should you be passing through, it makes an ideal place to top up fuel, groceries and goods and chattels.
