Many of their visitors are birdwatchers keen to see the Eungella Honeyeater along with the other 226 species of birds found in the area. The National Park is host to diverse flora and fauna, some rare and threatened. They are close to walking tracks, sporting facilities and places to eat. Go and enjoy these refreshing natural surroundings and make sure you see a magnificent sunrise from your balcony or campsite before you leave.

Explorers' Haven is a small independent and unique holiday park with no affiliation to a major camping chain. They were formerly known as Eungella Holiday Park and have just changed their name recently. The park is a self registration, cash only park in which you choose your own campsite. However if you wish bookings can be made in advance and a site allocated. Accommodation check in can be arranged with the manager at time of booking. A telephone (manager's hotline) on site allows guests to contact them at any time; they are always willing to assist with check in or information about the area.

How To Get There:
Explorers' Haven is located in the Eungella Township which is approximately an hour's drive west of Mackay. Drive along the Peak Downs Highway from Mackay for approximately five kilometres and turn right onto the Mackay Eungella Road. Follow this road for approximately 80 kilometres. When you reach the Eungella Township which is located at the top of the range take the first turn on the right which is North Street. The park is approximately 200 metres along this road on the right hand side just past the tennis court. Mackay Eungella Road can also be accessed from north or south of Mackay. Please contact the manager or check the website for details of these routes.
If using GPS and can't find "Eungella" try looking for "Dalrymple Heights".

This peaceful home away from home is a four bedroom apartment with large balconies and stunning views over the Pioneer Valley. The front balcony boasts a great barbecue and large outdoor setting. The apartment itself contains a pot belly stove and is air conditioned. The kitchen has a dishwasher and the bathroom a large bath. The television has Austar, a DVD player and surround sound. There are two queen size beds and four single beds.

This is a unique hexagonal log cabin has a gorgeous outlook with stunning views of the Pioneer valley. Enjoy a barbecue with a view from its balcony. The cabin is heated with a pot belly and cooled with air conditioning. It contains kitchen facilities and has a spa bath and shower. At this stage the toilet is located in amenities block which is approximately a 50 metre walk. The cabin will sleep up to four people but is best suited for two. It contains a queens size bed and a double sofa bed, and a television with DVD player.
