The winding Hinterland roads give you a taste of the natural wonder that waits within the National Parks in the region. Feel the temperature drop and see the sun try to stream through the canopy of the mighty Antarctic Beech trees as you bushwalk through this beautiful part of the world.
Springbrook National Park, along with its sister park Lamington, are part of the protected Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, and will wow you with breath-taking views from lookouts and magnificent waterfalls, rainforests and deep pristine gorges.
Be on the lookout for small rainforest wallabies, koalas and other furry friends. A must see is the glow-worms which light up the Natural Bridge section of Springbrook National Park after sunset.
For more up-close and personal animal encounters, head to the Gold Coast's wildlife sanctuaries and theme parks where you can swim with dolphins, cuddle a koala and even feed a tiger. And in the winter months there are plenty of opportunities to spot a whale on its annual migration along Queensland’s coastline.
