Coolangatta YHA Backpackers is a 40 minute drive north of Byron Bay, just over the Queensland border. They are only a five minute walk from the Gold Coast Airport and 150 metres from the beach.
It is an ideal springboard for your Gold Coast activities, enjoy a stroll along the beach, take a tour to the spectacular hinterlands featuring tropical rainforests, waterfalls, rock pools and many nature walks. Visit Currumbin wildlife sanctuary and hand feed a kangaroo, have your photograph taken with a koala or take an exciting ""wild night tour"".
The famous Gold Coast theme parks are only a 30 to 40 minute drive away. For the more adventurous try a tandem skydive, surf lessons, scuba dive or ocean kayaking.
Coolangatta has something for everyone.

From the Gold Coast Airport Terminal, they are just a five minute walk. A free pickup service four times a day at 8.00 a.m., 11.00 a.m., 2.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. For those driving they are located just north of the Queensland border adjacent to the highway.
